July 1-12 Happy 4th of July! Lance
and Jane came in the morning to pick up five pair and brought six more to
transfer embryos into. Pastures are looking pretty bleak!
Where we used to graze and hay too it's not going to happen this year!
We spent the afternoon with Bob, Karen, Tommy and Donna! It
sprinkled on us is about all the rain we got!
-
The Haney family came by on the 9th and Kylie spent the
night. We met the family in Chouteau the next evening. We
spent most of Monday in Tulsa at the Dentist. You guessed it Abbie
needs a tooth replaced! ha That will be an expensive deal!
Sure makes you come home and brush your teeth more! ha

Well if you have been trying to catch the
news at TLC you would have noticed that we haven't been able to report for the
past week and a half! Due to the server being down and it also
crashed my web site navigation and page banner applications. So to
make a long story short I have had to redo the entire web site!
Guess we needed to clean up some stuff anyway as I am getting satellite
internet very soon! So I might as well also get a new host for
our web site..too.
-
Not much new except we did finally get some much needed
rain last night the 11th and 12th of July! Three inches to be exact
in two days! The pastures sure did need that drink of water.
We have had company off and on too! We will be in the hayfield as
soon as it clears up! Possible rain showers tonight too! When
it rains it pours! We are not complaining though!
-
Come back for more exciting times!

July 13-28 Well if you have missed reading the
Diary I apologize for the wonderful server that was messing it up! I
finally said enough is enough! I have been in the process of
transferring everything over to the new server
www.godaddy.com Not
without a lot of telephone calls, emails and pulling my hair out by the
roots! ha In that time we were preparing for the Springfield MO
cattle show, haying, trying to keep cattle cool and comfortable. We
have had several folks call to see if something tragic happened to us two
old foggies since the web site was just sitting idle!
-
I have been cleaning the barn in various stages!
Chunking Dear Abbie's prized empty boxes and out dated medicine.
It's starting to look habitable again! We finished up the Smith
place and got a few bales baled up with the help of our friend Terry.
I ate dirt on the v rake several days. I had two balers
chasing me when they weren't broke down trying to catch me.
How horrible to look back and see teeth and tractor coming after you! ha
-
We had several folks drop by. Friend Sheila came
by with all of their remaining neck sweats that Allison has used on her
show cattle. We sure do appreciate that gift. We
can put them to good use! We sold a couple of young bulls to
some nice folks named John and Dyanna Lay from Waggoner OK.
They were simply amazed at the thickness of our bull calves. So
Jubilee a just weaned bull calf we took to Junior Nationals got a good new
home and some girls friends.. The other bull is still on the cow and
they will pick him up at weaning. We transferred embryos
the 21st of July. They saw our
Bulls for Sale sign along the road! That sign paid for its
self already!

July 29; Megan, Morgan and Kevin came to help
load and prepare for the MO Show. We got up early on the 31st
and headed to Springfield with five head of cattle. Vasa, Linda,
Star the three heifers. Romeo and Polled Dragon in the rear of the
trailer. We got there in good time and we also took the little
red truck with equipment in the back so that the trailer was freed up
some. With this extreme heat the cattle are
really hitting the water tanks and we don't have pond water in some
pastures so they need watched around the clock. We had a good visit
with several of our cattle friends and the cattle settled into their new
barn.. Ozark Empire has to be one of the hell holes in
the cattle showing community. You are down in a hole where
very little breeze hits. They have been just as dry as us too
so they even had sprinklers running on top of the roofs to try and keep it
somewhat cool.
