Anjou Association National Feeding Trial

Five
Thorne Ranch steers at the AMAA Feeding Trail gained an average of
4.158 pounds in the first test weight taken 104 days on feed!

One steer T7159 sired by Cowan's
Ali and out of a TLC Angus cow gained an average of 4.654 pounds a
day!
-
Three steers are sired by Cowan's Ali
and two from HAA Contender. Dams are 2 Fullbood Braunvieh cows,
one Angus cow and 1 Half Angus/Braunvieh cow so we should collect some
good data from this contest.

They averaged 652.8 on arrival in Oct
2007
-
They gained 143.6 pounds before going
on contest Dec 5, 2007.

Ultrasound weight 3/19/08 they averaged
1228.8 pounds

CATTLE DID VERY WELL IN 2008 HOUSTON LIVESTOCK SHOW
We didn't get to make the show
due to new calves being born and needing attention in the bad
weather but our partners Diamond in the Rough Cattle Co and Flying
I Ranch did well without our help!
Judge Chris Sankie, comments on
Lulu. "This heifer will make the registrations go up in
the Braunvieh Breed."

Livestock Show in Jackson MS.
TLC Bart was owned and shown by
Aerial Taylor and Lexi Overby of Morton Mississippi.
Congratulations Lexi on your $5,000 scholarship for Best Hair in
the Fitting Contest.

Bart was third in class of 15
steers behind the Grand and Reserve Grand Champion Steers in the
Light Heavy Weight Division that won the show! He weighed in
at 1340#

TLC Titan and Bryce Overby had bad
luck when Titan injured his front shoulder unloading so he didn't
